Medical Biochemistry is the foundation of Medicine. The Department of Biochemistry of TMMC is committed to teach Medical Biochemistry to undergraduate medical students. We have an experienced and hardworking faculty & well trained support staff. We teaches the basic knowledge on major biomolecules, enzymes, hormones, nutrients and fundamental chemical principles involved in body mechanism upon which life process depends. Our department has a well-equipped Laboratory with good quality photoelectric colorimeter, centrifuge machine, incubator, water bath, hot air oven, height and weight measuring instruments etc. We demonstrate the skills in performing and interpreting biochemistry laboratory tests and procedures in the diagnosis of diseases.

The Department of the Community Medicine of Tairunnessa Memorial Medical College is well dedicated and motivated to teach the undergraduate medical students of Bangladesh and abroad. As a main subject, students are placed after passing 1st professional examination up to end of final professional examination twice daily keeping patient in front of them. The main objective is to teach internee doctors to be a good physician. By direct interaction with the patient under professor’s & registrar’s supervision they help themselves to build a knowledgeable future. Various activities like case discussion, CME, clinical round helps them to enrich their knowledge as well. With a group of skilled nurse and other staff we are committed to give a quality service to our patient. Department situated in 1st floor of main hospital building with 80 beds enriched with central oxygen line.

TMMCH pathology department is a complete and self sufficient departmemt enriched with modern laboratory set up offering all kind of pathology tests including clinical pathology, histopathology, FNAC,image guided fnac,core biopsy,cervical smears and other cytology methods.We are well equipped witg facilities such as microscope projectors and plenty microscopes for students and an experienced faculty comprising qualified teachers as per BMDC requirements. As per new rule of BMDC, study of Pathology will start in 3rd phase, the comprehensive course will continue for one (1) year with 100 hours lecture classes, 100 hours tutorials and 28 hours practical classes. The total teaching hours are 228 hours. The course will be evaluated by 3rd Professional Examination.

The department of Microbiology is a dedicated and dynamic department of TMMCH. Microbiology has become an umbrella term that encompasses many sub disciplines or fields of study, including bacteriology (the study of bacteria), mycology (the study of fungi), parasitology (the study of parasites) and virology (the study of viruses). We have highly qualified and experienced faculty members and trained supportive staffs. Our department runs a Microbiology Laboratory with good quality laboratory instruments and reagents. We have autoclave machine, hot air oven, incubator and centrifuge machine. Every day we do different types of staining, culture and sensitivity of a wide range of samples in our laboratory. The department is well equipped with all the standard books of latest edition. We have audiovisual aids such as light microscope, overhead projectors, visualizer and DG board. Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology offers teaching to the students of 3rd year MBBS course.The aim of the department is to increase the depth of knowledge of various subdivision of Forensic science. So that they became capable to perform their professional duties sincerely & efficiently. & is capable of being examine & prepare reports /certificate in medicolegal cases /situations in accordance with the law of lands. During medical practice in the society they can maintain the standard of medical ethics. Also this subject prepare the student to become quite competent to help the administration and giving medicolegal opinion regarding disputed cases of sexual assault ,rape victim examination ,identification of unknown person determination, poisoning case and most of all determination of mode,manner and cause in complicated incidence like suspicious,unnatural,unattended ,medically unexplained death. Total allocation of teaching hours for the students are 195 hours; out of which 80 hours are the theoritical lectures and rest on 115 hours for tutorial, practical classes & integrated or assaignment.
